What Does a Script Coordinator Do?
Hi! I’m Lynsey - a script coordinator with 15 years of experience working on UK and international film and TV productions. I’ve worked on tv shows and limited series including titles like Apple TV’s Hijack and Masters of the Air (for a hot minute!) Over the years, I’ve connected with brilliant creatives across the industry, and after many new introductions through LinkedIn, I wanted to take a moment to say hello and share a little more about what I do behind the scenes.
Who Am I?
I’m Scottish-born, trained in Australia, and lived in London for nearly a decade before returning to Scotland, where I now offer remote and hybrid script coordination services for productions in the UK, US, and beyond. Also? I’m a little bit obsessed with North Carolina - shows like Dawson’s Creek and One Tree Hill made a big impression on me, and I’ve loved visiting filming locations in real life while I spent a year in Raleigh, NC!
What Is the Script Coordinator Role?
A script coordinator acts as the central communication point between writers, the producers, and production. My job is to make sure scripts are accurate, updated, formatted correctly, and clearly track every change - from early drafts to locked versions.
Some of the key services I provide include:
Script formatting to industry standards (Final Draft)
Revision tracking with colour pages and asterisks
Locked script updates and version control
Specialised script reports to highlight changes or potential issues
Issuing revision memos and managing workflows across departments
Essentially, I help the creative stay creative and the logistical stay on track.
If you're curious about the day-to-day, I share more detail about what I do here.
Tools for Aspiring Script Coordinators
In addition to working on productions, I also support new and aspiring script coordinators with digital tools and training resources. You’ll find:
The Locked Script Method™ – my step-by-step guide to handling script revisions with confidence
A ready-to-use Revisions Memo Template

If you’re starting out or looking to level up, these resources are here to help.
