Ever wondered, what does a Script Coordinator actually do? If you’ve worked in film or TV, you might have heard the title, but the full scope of the role often flies under the radar.

A Script Coordinator is far more than just someone who formats scripts. We work closely with the Script Editor and Script Supervisor, and sometimes the writers and producers, completing the script department and ensuring smooth communication and version control from pre-production through post.

Script Revisions & Reports

Our core responsibilities include:

  • Managing and tracking all script revisions

  • Maintaining a consistent, locked script for distribution

  • Creating revision memos to clearly communicate updates

  • Providing specialised reports tailored to each production’s needs

On Apple TV’s Hijack, which unfolds in real time, I developed a minute-by-minute scene timeline and a character movement tracker detailing where each character was on the plane in every scene. These reports became essential tools for scheduling, continuity, and production efficiency.

Accessibility in Script Formatting

One often overlooked area is the need for dyslexia-friendly scripts. Using my expertise in Final Draft, I provide fully formatted versions designed specifically for dyslexic cast and crew. No one should have to struggle to read a script and I’m proud to turn a point of difficulty into a seamless, inclusive experience.

Why Script Coordinators Matter

Script Coordinators play a key role in making sure scripts are production-ready, clear, and accessible, so every department can work from the same page, literally. When revisions are fast-moving and stakes are high, we ensure stability, accuracy, and communication across the entire team.
